Instantly Alternatives for Small Businesses (2026): An Honest Comparison
Instantly is a great sending tool if you already have a list and time to write. If you don't, here's how the main alternatives compare on price, lead data and how much work is left for you.
Full disclosure: I'm the founder of Selamly, which is one of the tools in this list. I'll be honest about where each tool fits, including where Selamly doesn't. All prices are from each company's own pricing page in October 2026, billed monthly unless noted.
First: what kind of tool do you actually need?
Most "Instantly alternatives" lists compare tools that do very different jobs. Before you compare prices, answer one question: how much of the work do you want to do yourself?
- Sending tools (Instantly, Smartlead): you bring the list, write the emails and manage the campaigns. The tool sends at scale and keeps your inboxes healthy.
- All-in-one platforms (lemlist, Apollo): lead database plus sequences. You still pick who to contact and write the messages, with AI helpers.
- Done-for-you agents (Gojiberry, Selamly): you describe who you sell to, and the agent finds, researches and contacts companies for you.
If you have a sales person who enjoys building lists and writing copy, a sending tool is the cheapest option. If you're a founder selling in between everything else, the time you spend is the real cost.

1. Smartlead: if you want Instantly, but cheaper at scale
Smartlead is the closest like-for-like alternative. Plans start at $39/month (6,000 emails, 2,000 contacts) and the Pro plan is $94/month for 90,000 emails. Every plan lets you connect unlimited mailboxes, and agencies like the client management features.
Good fit if you already know who you're emailing and what to say. Not a fit if the hard part for you is finding the right companies in the first place.
2. lemlist: if personalization and multichannel matter most
lemlist starts at $55 per user per month on yearly billing for email, and $87 for multichannel with LinkedIn steps. It includes a large lead database and deliverability features. You build the sequences, and its AI helps with the writing.
Good fit for a small sales team that wants email and LinkedIn in one place. You'll still spend time choosing leads and reviewing messages.
3. Apollo: if you need a database first
Apollo is mainly a B2B contact database with sequences built in. There's a free plan with Gmail sending, and paid plans add credits and features per user. It's a good place to build lists; deliverability and writing are mostly on you.
4. Gojiberry: if your buyers live on LinkedIn
Gojiberry is LinkedIn-first: its AI agents look for buying signals on LinkedIn and reach out from LinkedIn seats, with email enrichment and email senders alongside. Its base price isn't listed on its own pricing explainer; third-party sources report around $99/month, with extra agents at $59/month. It's a strong fit if your buyers are active on LinkedIn, and less so for local businesses that rarely use it.
5. Selamly: if you don't want to build lists or write emails at all
This is the tool I build, so read this part with that in mind. Selamly is for small businesses and startups that know they need outbound but don't have the time or a sales person to do it.
- You enter your website. Selamly works out what you sell and who buys it.
- It finds companies in public sources, never bought lists, and reads each company's website.
- It checks fit and timing for each one and verifies the address before the first email.
- It writes to each company personally, follows up twice, then stops.
- Only the interested replies come back to you.
Plans start at $99/month: about 1,700 companies researched one by one each month, and the best-fit ~600 get a personal first email and two follow-ups. Three sending mailboxes on separate domains are set up and warmed up for you, so your main domain is never used for cold email.
Where it's not a fit: if you already have a curated list and a copywriter, a sending tool like Instantly or Smartlead will be cheaper per email. Selamly is built for people who want the whole thing done.

Sending tools often say "unlimited email accounts", which means you can connect as many mailboxes as you buy. You still pay for the domains (around $10-15 per year each) and the mailboxes (around $7-8 per month each with Google Workspace), and you need to set up DNS records and warm them up for a few weeks before sending. For a typical setup of 3 domains and 9 mailboxes, that's roughly $65-75 a month on top of the tool, plus setup time.
That's not a reason to avoid sending tools. Just compare total cost, not the price on the pricing page.

FAQ
What is the cheapest Instantly alternative?
Smartlead starts at $39/month, below Instantly's $47 outreach plan. Both require you to bring your own list and mailboxes, so add those costs when comparing.
Do I need separate domains for cold email?
Yes. Sending cold email from your main domain risks your everyday email landing in spam. Use separate lookalike domains with their own warmed-up mailboxes.
Is there an Instantly alternative that writes the emails for you?
Done-for-you agents like Selamly and Gojiberry handle research and writing. Selamly works over email and researches each company's website before writing; Gojiberry is LinkedIn-first.
